Bloomberg BNA Gets New President

Bloomberg BNA has named Darren McKewen as president. McKewen, who joined BNA in 1987, replaces Greg McCaffery who became CEO of Bloomberg Law in September. McKewen was previously VP and group publisher for BNA's Tax and Accounting Services, a job he had held since 2005.

Marks Paneth & Shron has named a new partner and a principal to its tax practice and a new principal to its Litigation and Corporate Financial Advisory Services Group. The New York-based firm has promoted Dawn Rhodes to partner and Paul Bercovici to principal in the first group and Josefina Tranfa-Abboud to principal in the latter.

CompuPay has hired Mark Strippy as its new SVP to head its payroll operations. Strippy was the founder and president of Heartland Payment Systems and was with that company for more than 13 years and steps into a newly created position at the payroll services provider.

I talk about the BBB with my clients a lot. No, this BBB is not the Better Business Bureau; it is the Baby Boomer Bubble. There is constant reference by the news media about the aging of the Baby Boomers but I for one did not know exactly what it meant. So, I Googled it. What I found is not good news for the accounting profession. The BBB is 76 million of us born in the United States between 1946 and 1964 and we are fairly evenly spread through those 19 years.
