Schneider Downs Founder Dies

James T. Schneider, founding partner of Schneider Downs & Co., died of cancer this month while vacationing in Naples, Fla. He was 83, according to his obituary on postgazette.com, an online edition of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The American Institute of CPAs has hired Deloitte's Lawson Carmichael as senior vice-president for strategy, people and innovation. Carmichael will lead the AICPA’s strategic planning activities and oversee the Office of Strategy Management and Human Resources team. He will also be responsible for market research and product and services innovation.
