Client Transition, Retention and Partner Succession

It’s the Baby Boomer Bubble, up close and personal. Our succession planning should focus on replacing that retiring partner’s contribution on several fronts. Depending on the role of the retiring partner in the firm we will experience varying levels of pain surrounding things like replacing significant knowledge or technical expertise, backfilling a block of hours to get the work done and shoring up voids left in firm leadership.

Robert Leaving Wolters Kluwer

Kevin Robert, Wolters KluwerKevin Robert is retiring as CEO of Wolters Kluwer Tax and Accounting in September. He will be replaced by Karen Abramson, who has served as CEO of CCH Tax & Accounting North America. The change will complete a sweep of top spots in the CCH executive suite since Abramson took over from Mike Sabbatis, former head of CCH, last year.

Sabbatis Joins RealPage as Revenue Officer

Mike Sabbatis, RealPageFormer CCH president Mike Sabbatis has joined RealPage, a Carrollton, Texas-based company, as chief revenue officer.  Sabbatis held the job at CCH from March 2002 through October 2012 when he left in a year of significant changes at the tax and accounting company. RealPage produces SaaS products for the rental housing market.

Break the Bad Habit of Multi-tasking

multi-tasking.While writing a last weekly tip about how an audience experiences a company, I misspelled several words in the email...grrrr. Of course, the reason was because I was multi-tasking and in a hurry. I was writing the email, moving our email service to Hubspot for the first time and watching my two-and-a-half-year-old twins, which was a bad combination! The ‘experience' that our readers got from our tips could not have been great, because of the mistakes. How ironic.
