Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

 Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.

With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.

In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.

Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and

filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those 

They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

Abila Takes MIP to the Web

Dan Murphy, Abila Abila is readying the introduction of MIP Advance, an Internet-version of the long-marketed fund accounting package. The roll out begins in July with elements suited for CFPs and executive stakeholders of nonprofits organizations. The first elements include executive dashboarding, quick financial reports and quick journal voucher entry.

AICPA Offers Six-Point Audit Plan

Susan S. Coffey, AICPAThe American Institute of CPAs has issued a Six-Point Plan to Improve Audits, which the organization says is part of its effort to drive higher audit performance. The plan concentrates on financial statement audits for American private companies, employee benefit plans and governmental entities.

Sage Tries New Road with Life

Doug LaBahn, Sage Sage is preparing to release a new software product, Sage Life, that will be available in the cloud. Built on the SalesForce 1 platform, the application is anticipated to be ready for general availability when Sage hosts its annual Summit conference in late July. The company said pricing will be available with the general release.

Avalara Offers Exemption Apps

AvalaraAvalara has introduced two applications that are designed to enable retailers and ecommerce companies to automatically collect sales tax exemption certificates at point of sale kiosks and online shopping carts. The new products are Avalara CertCapture for Retail and CertCapture for ecommerce.

Sage One Relaunched

Steven Kelley, SageThe low-cost accounting package Sage One has been relaunched in the United States. The online application has apparently been repriced and plans for previously announced editions do not appear to have materialized. The new initiative was announced by Sage CEO Stephen Kelley during the recent webcast of earnings for the half ended March 31.

SEC Bars McGladrey Partner

McGladreyA McGladrey partner has been barred from practicing before the Securities and Exchange Commission for at least three years. Simon Lesser, age 58 of Wilmette, Ill., must also pay a $75,000 civil money penalty for what the SEC said was his failure to address related-party relationships in which a hedge fund illegally charged $3 million in expenses to feeder funds.

Wolters Kluwer CCH Small Firm Services has been named as one of the Top 50 medium-sized call centers in North America. The award was the second consecutive received by the Kennesaw, Ga.-based organization. The award was part of the 2015 Top 100 Call Center awards made by BenchmarkPortal, a research and educational organization for customer contact best practices.

Blackbaud CEO Earned $4.8 Million

Mike Gianoni, Blackbaud Blackbaud CEO Mike Gianoni earned $4.8 million in 2014 as the executive completed his first full year with the Charleston-S.C.-based nonprofit software vendor. The biggest portion of Gianoni's compensation came via a stock award valued at $2.6 million. Gianoni, hired in November 2013, also received a bonus of $864,277 to offset a lost bonus and equity at his prior job and to assist with relocation.
