Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.
With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.
In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.
Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and
filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those

Xero has introduced TaxTouch, an income and tax-tracking mobile application for freelance workers. Designed for those who submit Schedule C with their tax returns the app can separate expenses by swiping right for business or left for personal ones. It is initially available on the iOS platform with an Android version to follow.
Online Products Lift Intuit Results
Sales of TurboTax Online and QuickBooks Online gave Intuit strong financial results for the second quarter ended January 31. The company says its consumer tax products gained market share, probably at the expense of tax stores, while more than 100,000 QBO subscribers were added during the three-month period.
CEO: CCH Axcess Gains at Big Firms
The CCH Axcess online suite is doing well among large accounting firms, Nancy McKinstry, CEO of Wolters Kluwer, said in a recent earnings webcast. McKinstry made her comments as the company reported results for the year ended December 31. Wolters Kluwer reported an 11-percent drop in net profit, but a 17-percent rise in operating profit and a 15-percent increase in revenue for the most recently completed year.
Serenic Founders Buy OneSoft Line
Tangicloud, owned by Jay and Liesa Malik, the founders of Serenic Software, has purchased the OneNFP business unit from OneSoft Solutions. The Maliks are bringing the cloud-based nonprofit software group into the product line of their newest company. The deal brings them back into the NFP software market after several years' absence.
Reckon to Grow SmartVault
SmartVault, which markets online document management systems, will expand into the United Kingdom and Australia under its new owner, Reckon. The Australian vendor outlined its plans for SmartVault, which it purchased in January, with the recent release of financial results for the year ended December 31.
Blackbaud Earnings Fell Last Year

Nonprofit software vendor Blackbaud reported that net income dropped to $25.6 million for the year ended December 31, a decline of 9.4 percent from $28.3 million in 2014. The Charleston, S.C.-based company reported revenue of $637.9 million for the most recently ended year, up 12.8 percent from $564.4 million the prior year.
Thomson Revs Down; But Tax & Accounting Up
The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters continued its usual growth, while overall the parent company saw revenue drop for the year ended December 31. Revenue for Tax & Accounting rose by 7 percent before currency over 2014 as total revenue fell by 3 percent as currency dampened reported numbers. In the fourth quarter, revenue for ongoing business was actually up 2 percent before currency adjustments.
Xero Integrates with Power BI

Xero has integrated its low-cost accounting software with Microsoft Power BI. The New Zealand-based cloud software vendor says the link will provide its users with an easier way to access and analyze information from Xero and other packages.
FreshBooks Redesigned

FreshBooks, the online accounting application, has been redesigned with a summer release scheduled for the new version, according to a letter by CEO and co-founder Mike McDerment. McDerment said the update is needed to enable the company to meet its goal of serving self-employed professionals and their teams.

CPE Exposure Draft to Be Re-issued

An Exposure Draft about revisions to standards for continuing professional education has been reissued by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy and the American Institute of CPAs. The Statement on Standards for Continuing Professional Education received 51 comments in the initial period for public comment from April through October last year.
