Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.
With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.
In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.
Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and
filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those

Xero American Users Up 200 Percent

Xero says the number of users of its cloud-based accounting software in North America hit 18,000 when its fiscal year ended on March 31. That's up from 6,000 at the end of fiscal 2013. Meanwhile, revenue for New Zealand-based company on the continent reached about $2.8 million, an increase of 154 percent over the prior year.

Paychex says it is getting lots of interest in the low-cost accounting package it is marketing. But comments during the recent earnings webcast suggested the payroll services company still has not ironed out the details of how to get small businesses to sign up for the Kashoo-based cloud product in great numbers.
Cloud Payroll Companies Offer IPOs
The market for Internet-based payroll and HR services is drawing a crowd as three organizations have gone to the public market for funds. Those are the TriNet Group, Paycom Software and Paylocity with TriNet having raised $240 million in an IPO that was priced a week ago. Paylocity went public on March 18 while Paycom filed a registration statement for its proposed IPO on March 10.

BDO Seidman has sold its Synergistic Software Solutions operations and the manufacturing software that unit has marketed to a private equity investment group. Anania & Associates of Windham, Maine, has purchased Synergistic and the JobOps application that is marketed to users of Sage 100 ERP accounting software.

The Information Technology Alliance and CPA2Biz will co-locate their fall conferences in December. The organizations said the overlapping AICPA/CPA2Biz Digital CPA Conference and the ITA Fall Collaborative, will be held as separate conferences, but offer shared general sessions and cross over topics.

Block Settles Disability Suit

H&R Block has agreed to provide access to its website and mobile applications to those with disabilities. If approved, the agreement will close legal action brought against the tax services giant by the U.S. Civil Rights Division that alleged the company technology was designed so "that individuals with disabilities are denied full and equal enjoyment of largely tax-preparation focused goods and services that are provided through H&R Block's website and mobile applications."
ZenPayroll Raises $20 Million

ZenPayroll, which targets small businesses, has raised $20 million in funding. The cloud-based company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, expand into new geographies and to hire more staff. The funding came from General Catalyst Partners and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.
