Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

 Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.

With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.

In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.

Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and

filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those 

They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

Bill.com Raises $38 Million

Bill.com, which delivers invoicing services via the Internet, has received $38 million in financing. The round was led by new investor Scale Venture Partners. Among uses of the funds will be investment in the company's Banking Platform and the acceleration of its Business Payments Network.

SEC Bars Four CPAs at New York Firm

SherbFour CPAs and their New York City accounting firm have been barred from appearing before the SEC for their roles in the audits of three Chinese companies. The firm, Sherb & Co., was also hit with a $75,000 civil money penalty after the SEC found auditors missed obvious errors and red flags and in one case, ignored a warning from one client's controller and the attempted bribe of a member of the audit staff by another client.

Wolters Kluwer's Performance Improves

cch new logoCCH Tax & Accounting had a strong performance in tax software for its parent Wolters Kluwer in the third quarter ended September 30. The Netherlands-based company issued that report last week as part of a trading update for the most recently period. However, it said the gains at CCH were partially offset by reduced revenue from bank products and print formats.

James Smith, Thomson ReutersThomson Reuters is scaling down its merger and acquisition activity. The change in strategy was enunciated in an earnings call last week by CEO James Smith who said acquisition efforts would focus on tuck-in purchases.

Karen Abramson, Wolters KluwerCCH has worked to fix and eliminate software and service problems identified a year ago by users, Karen Abramson, CEO of Wolters Kluwer Tax and Accounting, said this week. And after more than a year at the company, Abramson outlined four problems areas to attendees at the company's CCH Connections User Conference 2013 as she used her keynote to focus on issues and their resolution.
