The firm's website is no longer active and Labrozzi's LinkedIn page shows he is now a sales strategist at PatientTrac Information Technology Corp. His firm was founded in 2007.
The action began when an Order of Formal Investigation was issued on March 20, 2013 regarding patenting audit failures. The PCAOB said that Labrozzi then failed to provide requested documents regarding the audit for a client's financial statements for one client for 2010 and another for 2011. The board issued a demand for additional documents on March 27, 2013 but received none until it instituted disciplinary proceedings on September 17 that year.
It was then, the PCAOB said, that Labrozzi added his initials and backdated the PPC work papers to show they had been completed at the time of the audits. The board said he also "wholesale" added 33 PPC workpapers. In one audit, the backdated workpapers accounted for 161 out of 199 pages of workpapers and those for two other audits showed the same pattern.
Labrozzi was ordered to appear in New York for sworn testimony. On June 5, Labrozzi's attorney requested a rescheduling because of vacation plans. The board agreed to a final, two-week extension. He agreed to a June 25 session and his attorney confirmed the CPA's plan to attend via an email on June 21. However, the day before the scheduled testimony, the attorney telephoned to report Labrozzi would not appear and they did not provide dates for future testimony.
