Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.
With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.
In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.
Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and
filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those
They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

Online accounting software vendor Xero has named veteran consultant Gary Boomer as MVP. The New Zealand-based company handed out the award as part of events at the company's first conference, Xerocon, in the United States.
Low-end Accounting, Bookkeeping Jobs Fade
Low-end accounting and bookkeeping jobs fell by 13 percent from 2007 through 2012. During the same period, accounting and auditing jobs rose by 3 percent, according to Steve King, a partner with Emergent Research.
Intuit Mulls Virtual Office Pricing
Intuit is developing bundled pricing for its emerging Intuit Virtual Office. That platform will tie together existing Intuit cloud applications and some third-party programs once a Homebase, a landing page, is released later this year.

New features include a client dashboard that displays an organized client background summary, such as a client's updated profile, contacts, files, associated projects and staff members assigned, accounts receivable information, and all related client notes, in a single view.

Office Tools Professional has entered a partnership agreement with cPaperless. The deal enables users of Office Tools, which publishes practice management software, to have esignatures for its form letters.
Intuit Mounting Effort in Low-end Accounting
Intuit signaled it is ready to combat the new generation of low-end accounting products. Details were not provided in this week’s 2013 earnings webcast. However, CEO Brad Smith said his company has a team to serve customers for whom the company’s QuickBooks accounting application is more than they need.

A Florida CPA who has audited a number of Chinese companies has been censured by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board and barred from being associated with any registered firm. Jay Charles Lake, 50, of Boca Raton, Fla,, and owner of Lake & Associates, can apply for reinstatement after three years.
