The CCH Code & Regs 2013  app for Apple iPhone, iPad and Android  mobile devices provides real-time updates of the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations. It can retrieve the most recently updated, full text of both the Internal Revenue Code as well as Federal Tax Regulations, including final, temporary and proposed regulations.

TaxAct, which makes low-cost tax preparation software for consumers and professional preparers, has launched DocVault, which can organize and store tax documents. Available for Android and Apple smartphones and tablets, DocVault includes mage editing tools, customizable tags and other organizational features.

Intuit has rolled out TurboTax CPA Select, a service that enables consumers to pick a CPA to prepare their tax returns. Consumers can hire CPAs via an Intuit website and have returns prepared for pre-negotiated rates.
