Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

 Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.

With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.

In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.

Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and

filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those 

They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

FreshBooks Raises $43 Million

FreshbooksFreshBooks, which markets cloud accounting software, has raised $43 million in Series B Funding. The company expects to invest the funds to support North American growth and to support development of its latest product, launched in September.

Cherry Bekaert Takes on Oracle+NetSuite

Paul Doucet, Cherry Bekaert Multi-office accounting firms continue to move into the cloud accounting space. The latest is Richmond, Va.-based Cherry Bekaert which has established an ERP consulting practice for the web-based application. That follows NetSuite's signing WithumSmith+Brown of Red Bank, N.J., in March.

BNA Debuts Pass-Through Entity Tool

Bloomberg BNA has launched a Pass-Through Entity Navigator, which provides state-by-state analysis and practical guidance for each type of pass-through entity and pass-through entity owner. Available to subscribers of Bloomberg BNA's Tax & Accounting State Tax research service, the analysis is also accessible through customizable state comparison charts.

Thomson Labs to Focus on New Tech

Mona Vernon, Thomson ReutersThomson Reuters has established a laboratory facility to assist startups in developing products based on emerging technologies. Called Thomson Reuters Labs–The Incubator, the Switzerland-based site will host early-stage entrepreneurs and give them access to Thomson executives as mentors through a six-month program.

Sage Selling North American Payments Unit

Stephen Kelly, SageSage has agreed to sell its North American payments business to private equity firm GTCR. The latter company has agreed to pay $260 million for Sage Payment Solutions, which generates about $150 million in revenue. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter, the companies said recently.

Indictment: Accountant Stole $3 Million

DOJA Middletown, Del.-based accountant has been accused of embezzling almost $3 million from a trust. An indictment this month accused Donald Rice, age 54, of wire fraud, bank fraud, money laundering and tax offenses, for allegedly taking the money from the trust  for personal uses, including purchase of a luxury vehicle.
