Aplos Takes in Portalbuzz

Tim Goetz, AplosCloud software vendors Aplos Software and Portalbuzz have merged. Operating under the Aplos name, the company will focus on developing front- and back-office products for nonprofit organizations.

Aplos markets nonprofit financial software and Portalbuzz sells member management software. They plan to develop new features and integrate their systems. Portalbuzz customers are receiving free support following the deal.

Founded by Tim Goetz in 2009, Aplos originally focused on developing fund accounting software. It has expanded its platform to include back-office features such as online donations, communications, donation tracking and a donor database.

Portalbuzz, founded in 2005 by Scott Smith, has primarily provided its member management platform to service clubs. The system includes a dynamic web builder, member invoicing, event registration and a member portal to manage groups and volunteer sign-ups.
