Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.
With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.
In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.
Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and
filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those
They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

The new main dashboard from Doc-it Suite 4 provides access to work tasks, the Doc.It Suite client Work Binders, documents, the Doc.It Archive and a set of integrated tools. Binders or documents can be launched by clicking on them. A click can also launch the Binder Explorer to browse and check the status of all active projects and can also initiate the Archive Explorer to access any document in storage.
Sage Execs Going on Nationwide Road Trip

Most senior executives of Sage North America are going on a transcontinental road trip in a recreation vehicle to visit resellers and customers in July and August. The company’s North American CEO, CFO, CIO and head of human resources will all make the trip, although no one person is making the entire 49-day jaunt.
AICPA: Accounting Grads in Record Demand

The demand for graduates with accounting degrees as at a record level, according to a study by the American Institute of CPAs. A record 40,350 accounting graduates were hired in 2012, according to the 2013 Trends in the Supply of Accounting Graduates and the Demand for Public Accounting Recruits report.
CPA Draws SEC Ban on Independence Issue

A New Jersey CPA has been barred from practicing before the SEC after his actions put his new firm in conflicting roles with an audit client,. The SEC barred Brian Zucker, who can reapply for reinstatement after one year. The agency placed the blame for problems squarely on Zucker, but his firm, Rosenberg Rich Baker Berman & Company was censured. RRBB agreed to cease and desist from committing any violations to pay a $25,000 civil money penalty and $12,000 disgorgement.

The American Institute of CPAs has introduced the Financial Reporting Framework for Small-and Medium-Sized Entities. FRF for SME’s is a new accounting option for preparing streamlined relevant financial statements for privately held, owner-managed businesses that are not required to use U.S. GAAP.
FreshBooks to Start Accounting Program

Low-end accounting software vendor FreshBooks is launching a program for accountants. CEO Mike McDerment says the membership program is “the beginning of a more intense effort to serve the profession.” Members get accounts they can use for as long as they like.
U.S. Out to Halt Georgia CPA Preparer

The United States has asked a federal court to bar a CPA in Tucker, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, from preparing federal tax returns for others. The Department of Justice is seeking an injunction to halt tax preparation by Matthew Adegbite and his companies MAS & Associates CPA, LLC and Mathew A. Adegbite CPA, PC, Adegbite was an accountant when he came to this country from Nigeria in 1993 and became a CPA in Georgia in 1999.
Florida Accountant Gets 80 Months in Prison

A Florida accountant has been sentenced to 80 months in federal prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and for corruptly endeavoring to obstruct the Internal Revenue Service. Joseph Rizzuti of Stuart, Fla., received the sentence for stealing payments that two clients had intended to be used for taxes and for his role in siphoning off investors' money for personal use for his role in scheme in which he and others stole about $3 million.

The American Institute of CPAs has launched the Forensics Accounting Educational Certificate with a course of study designed for members that want to expand their knowledge of forensic accounting. The courses lay the foundation for certificate holdings to obtain the AICPA's Certified in Financial Forensics credential.
Xero Getting Foothold in Top Firms

Xero, which makes Internet-based accounting applications, says it is making significant progress at top accounting firms in the United States. In a slide in presentation about its results for the year ended March 31, the company said it that "Over 10 of top 100 accounting firms in process of moving clients to Xero." However, the company has not provided details.
