Jackson Hewitt Tax Service has named S. Matt Botha to the newly created position of senior vice president, financial products and services. Botha is responsible for leading the development, implementation and maintenance of financial products, services and strategic relationships with third-party providers.

The American Institute of CPAs has opened the student website, ThisWaytoCPA.com, to international members. The site is designed to educate college students and CPA-exam candidates about the path to becoming a CPA, including registering for the CPA exam and becoming a U.S. CPA while living overseas.

TaxWorks is coming to market for 2012 tax software with substantial changes. The product, owned by RedGear Technologies, is getting a new look and a browser-based interface while keeping the historical five-pane return screen.
