KANSAS CITY, Mo. - H&R Block, which has been suffering from a loss of top executives this year, has named controller Jeff Brown as chief financial officer. Brown has served interim CFO following the departure of Beth Shulman in the spring.

SALT LAKE CITY - RedGear Technologies, which markets the TaxWorks tax preparation software line, has named Chip Coons as its new president and CEO.
