Xero Drops Revenue Job Slot

Stuart McLean, XeroXero has discontinued the job of chief revenue officer. The company said the move stemmed from the addition of a chief marketing officer who has responsibility for online sales and marketing, and the growth in regional capabilities.

As a result, Stuart McLean, whose job has been abolished, is joining Trade Me, a New Zealand-based online market place, in an executive position.

McLean joined Xero, which makes low-cost cloud accounting applications, in March 2013, after serving as head of Google's enterprise operations in Australia and New Zealand. The CMO job is held by Andrew Lark, who took his position in October.

Xero has not replaced North American CEO Peter Karpas, who left in September with the company voicing disapproval of management on this continent. But it has beefed up its management in the United States. In November, it hired John Forrester as VP of U.S, Marketing; James Maiocco as GM of business and corporate development; and Angus Norton, as SVP and chief product officer.
