Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

 Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.

With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.

In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.

Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and

filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those 

They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

CEO Says Sage Won't Kill Products

Connie Certusi, SageAlthough the Sage Group has a wide portfolio of software packages that executives say needs pruning, the company will not simply give end-of-life dates for these. In recent comments, Steven Kelly, CEO of the parent of Sage North America, said the company will not force users to migrate to its preferred applications.

Report: Payroll Outsourcing Declines

A recent study by Bloomberg BNA shows a sharp drop in the number of companies outsourcing payroll over the last four years. Only 12 percent of respondents in a survey outsourced some or all of their payroll services, down from 56 percent in 2012.

Exact Plans Accounting Firm Software

David Lechleitner, ExactExact intends to introduced a version of its Exact Online Software for accountants, this summer. And within about a year, it plans to bring a practice management application to accounting firms in the United States. It marks a significant increase in involvement with American accounting organizations by the Netherlands-based software publisher.

Intuit Starts Small Biz Loan Fund

Dan Wernikoff, IntuitIntuit has introduced Intuit QuickBooks Fund, which is designed to improves the chances of small businesses in obtaining financing. The company, which says it has already facilitated $150 million in loans in a test program, said it has established a $100 million fund.

Samantha Deal, Wolters KluwerWolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting has integrated its desktop ProSystem fx Practice Management with cloud-based Axcess suite. The integration was accomplished by enabling the desktop product to have its files exported to the CCH Axcess common database.

eFileCabinet Lands $14M in Funding

Matt Peterson, eFileCabineteFileCabinet, which makes online and on-premise document management applications, has received $14 million in venture capital funding. The Lehi, Utah-based company secured the funds from Palo Alto, Calif.-based Allegis Capital and Salt Lake City, Utah-base-Signal Peak Ventures.

Xero, Intuit Subscribers Hit Thresholds

IntuitXero and Intuit both reached milestones in the last week in the number of subscribers to their online accounting programs. Xero said during its Xerocon conference in Denver that it has reached 500,000 subscribers. The next day its rival, Intuit, said that there are now more than 1 million subscribers for QuickBooks Online.

Intuit Offers EMV Card Reader

IntuitIntuit is taking orders for an EMV Reader that will be necessary for businesses when a new credit card standard goes into effect in October. The new standard—short for Europay, MasterCard and Visa—provides credit and debit cards with embedded chips. ntuit notes businesses must be able to accept EMV cards or they will be responsible for fraudulent card-present transactions that occur when customers are using chip-based cards.
