The Reznick Group, a Bethesda, Md.-based CPA firm, says Deborah J. Levinson, a  CPA and real estate professional, has joined the firm as principal in charge of the commercial real estate practice. Levinson will expand Reznick's operations in this field throughout the New York metro area. She has more than 30 years of experience in the accounting and real estate industries.

Intuit got off to a hot start for the 2012 tax season. However, the pace of growth has slowed since it issued filing results in February. When it reported sales through February 13, sales of TurboTax Web sales had risen by 19 percent while desktop unit sales had dropped by 2 percent. The results for the season through March 17 showed Web unit sales up by 14 percent while the desktop numbers were off by 3 percent.

The Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters has acquired BizActions, which offers digital newsletter and Web marketing services for accounting firms in North America. Terms were not disclosed.That deal follows Thomson's purchase last month of Emochila, which markets website services.
