CPA Faces Five Years In Refund Fraud

A Los Angeles, Calf.-based CPA has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States. Accountant and tax preparer, Masood Chotoni, entered the plea which stemmed from charges that he filed returns using names and Social Security numbers of deceased taxpayers. He faces a maximum five years in prison and $250,000 fine.

Intuit’s Cook Sells $37.4M Shares

Intuit founder Scott Cook closed out 2012 by selling a bit more than $37.4 million in the company's stock during the second half of December. For Cook, it was the largest amount of Intuit stock sold in a single month in more than two years. The largest block was 266,666 shares sold on December 16 for $16.5 million.
