Intuit Buying Mailchimp for $12 Billion
Intuit has agreed to buy Mailchimp for about $12 billion in cash and shares. The deal for the email and marketing software company is expected to close by the end of Intuit’s second quarter on January 31.
Crowe Acquires NetSuite Reseller
NetSuite reseller and Workday Adaptive Planning partner, Upaya-The Solution, has been acquired by accounting firm Crowe. The deal for Upaya, based in Palo Alto, Calif., is expected to be completed on October 1.
QB Desktop Moving to All Subscription
Intuit is moving to subscription only for its QuickBooks Desktop lineup. The software company also said at the same time it is returning to U.S.-based accountant support and will have the available to a majority of accountants in this country within nine to 12 months.

Vic.ai Snares $50 Million in Funding
Vic.ai, which markets an AI-based payments platform, has received $50 million in Series B. Funding. The latested round for the company, launched in 2015, brings the total funding raised to $63 million.
Baker Tilly Buying Intacct Reseller
Baker Tilly US is buying Houston, Texas-based VAR AcctTwo Shared Services, effective October 1. Terms were not announced.

Three accounting firms have been selected for the Microsoft Inner Circle this year. Meanwhile, a fourth has received the software company’s Eagle Award for 2021/22.
QBO Revs Rise 25 Percent in 2021
Intuit reported another booming year for QuickBooks Online, whose sales grow to just under $1.7 billion for the year ended July 30. That is an increase of 25.4 percent from $1.35 billion in fiscal 2020.
