Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.
With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.
In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.
Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and
filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those

Sage is shelving three services of SageSpark, its online application suite and portal for small businesses. A note on the Spark website says the company has dropped Payment Plus, Payment Boss and Known Locally, the latter a website hosting service, effective July 31. Billing Boss, which is reported to have 2.8 million customers in the United States and Canada, remains on the market.
Intuit's Smith Gets 22-Percent Pay Hike

Intuit has given its CEO, Brad Smith, a 22-percent hike in his base pay. Smith will receive $975,000 for the year ending April 30, 2012, up from $800,000 for fiscal 2011. And company executives, most of whom did not receive bonuses in fiscal 2010, got them for the year ending July 31.

A Philadelphia area CPA has been barred from SEC practice for his role in a Ponzi scheme that operated for 13 years. CPA John N. Irwin received $5 million in fees and trading profits as he and his firm, Jacklin Associates, steered clients to Joseph S. Forte and their partnership, Joseph S. Forte LP, which fraudulently obtained $75 million from more than 100 investors that includes area at least one area church and a private school on whose board Jacklin sat.

QuickBooks users can now utilize Chrometa's web-based time tracking software to capture and categorize time and then automatically port entries into QuickBooks. The capability enables users to create a IIF file in Chrometa that can exported to the Intuit accounting package.
Practice Solution Ends in September

Thomson Reuters is ending support for its Practice Solution, a practice management application that has been on the market since 1999, following its acquisition. Support for the product ends on September 30 with users offered the opportunity to move to the newer Practice CS.

Intuit has improved the ability to accept credit and debit cards on its Intuit Websites via Intuit Web Payment, which sets up an online store. Web Payment takes payments directly through the site with no additional logins required. Users can also access statements and transction history online.
