Web-based Tax Company Debuting

YonderworksISSAQUAH, Wash. - YonderWorks, which is developing an Internet-based tax preparation application, is planning to test its program for tax year 2010 with the intention to have a complete program in the market the following year. The company has been exhibiting at the Internal Revenue Service Tax Forums this summer as it prepares its test.

"We are leveraging some new technology for cloud computing," says Hunter Thornton, director of business development. He says YonderWorks plans to have a full suite ready for tax year 2011.

The system has a Forms Mode that mirrors IRS forms, but also features an Interview Mode that enables less-experienced workers to quickly learn and quickly prepare returns. It also offers Spanish-speaking preparers the ability to prepare and show returns in Spanish.

Multi-office management is also expected to be available for authorized managers who will be able to assign users to multiple offices and will also create groups within an office so that users, roles and fee schedules can be assigned to an entire group. Returns can be reviewed before they are electronically filed and they can be audited if each office is allowed to efile its own returns. An unlimited number of fee schedules can also be established.

YonderWorks will support modernized efiling and the company says it wants to establish relationships with service bureaus and plans to help service bureaus grow and not to compete with them.
