IRS Tax Forums Go Virtual

The Internal Revenue Service is holding the 2020 IRS Nationwide Tax Forums online in July and August. The live-streamed webinars will be July from July 21 through August 20.

The Virtual Forums will be offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Registered attendees can participate in all of the live webinars and earn up to 30 Continuing Education Credits at one price.  Several seminars, including the plenary session, will be provided in Spanish

Those who have registered for in-person events can transfer their registration to the virtual events at no additional costs. Refunds are also available. 

The Early Bird rate is $240 per person for those who register by 5 pm ET June 15 with the standard rate of $289 available starting the next day.

Members of participating organizations can receive an additional $10 off the Early Bird rate if they register by June 15. They should contact their organizations which include  the American Bar Association Section of Taxation, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, National Association of Enrolled Agents, National Association of Tax Professionals, National Society of Accountants, National Society of Tax Professionals, Low Income Taxpayer Clinics  and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA)

Bob Scott has provided information to the tax and accounting community since 1991, first as technology editor of Accounting Today, and from 1997 through 2009 as editor of its sister publication, Accounting Technology. He is known throughout the industry for his depth of knowledge and for his high journalistic standards.  Scott has made frequent appearances as a speaker, moderator and panelist and events serving tax and accounting professionals. He  has a strong background in computer journalism as an editor with two former trade publications, Computer+Software News and MIS Week and spent several years with weekly and daily newspapers in Morris County New Jersey prior to that.  A graduate of Indiana University with a degree in journalism, Bob is a native of Madison, Ind
