dogA former Durant, Miss., resident has pleaded guilty to filing more than 550 tax returns which sought more than $3.5 million in undeserved refunds. Teresa C. Chism also failed to file her own individual income tax returns for tax years 2013 through 2015 even though she earned more than $100,000 during that period.

Chism operated tax return preparation businesses in Mississippi named Mo’ Money, MoneyCo USA, and Lady T Taxes, from 20025 through 2015. She was accused of falsifying her clients’ returns through various means, including reporting false wages, false self-employment income and expenses, and false education credits.

She faces a maximum of five years in prison, along with supervised release and restitution.
