Intuit has introduced the ability of ProConnect Tax to access transcripts via IRS Transcript direct access.
Available to ProConnect Tax users at no additional cost, the records can be accessed via a Transcripts tab added to the Client Profile screen in ProConnect. This will enable users to establish a connection to the Internal Revenue Service. They can provide client information and download the appropriate transcripts.
To use the features, preparers must have file Forms 2848 or 8821 for the client with the IRS to secure authorization. These need to be filed separately for each client and are not handled through the Intuit application.
