Intuit Opens Firms of the Future Contest

Intuit has opened its Firms of the Future Contest to accounting and bookkeeping firms from Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. Four global finalists will receive $5,000 each with the global winner receiving $10,000 when the winner is revealed at the software company's QuickBooks Connect conference on October 24 in San Jose, Calif.

The Internal Revenue Service has brought back the IRS Get Transcript Service. The service went offline last spring, but has been relaunched with what the agency describes as a more secure framework to block potential criminal access, such as affected it last year. The IRS says the enhanced authentication process will provide a foundation for additional self-help service.

Doc.It has added an autofiling feature that enables firms to file documents from tax, time and billing, and other software programs to a designated Doc.It User Inbox, a folder in a Doc.It Work Binder or to the client's Archive. The latest additions to the software also include time-and-billing integration and workflow enhancements.
