Intuit Claims 50,000 QuickBooks ProAdvisors
- Friday, 20 June 2008
Yesterday Intuit announced that it had signed up more than 50,000 accountants as paid members of its QuickBooks ProAdvisor® Program.
The program provides training, software, technical support, and other resources to tax and accounting practitioners using QuickBooks financial software. (And it provides Intuit a recurring revenue stream easily topping $25 million!)

The IRS evidently had a bit of a programming snafu relative to those taxpayers electing to have their tax prep fees deducted from their refund -- as do many TurboTax users. Oops!! I'm hearing from practitioners all over the country that those impacted are hopping mad. It's an interesting "love-hate" relationship between Intuit and the IRS. They seem to work really hard to cooperate (they NEED each other), yet they seem to pretty regularly stub their collective toes.
The letter that Intuit sent out last week appears after the jump.
CCH Rolls Out TaxScripts - Small & Medium Firms Rejoice!
- Monday, 12 January 2009
CCH reps are selling TaxScripts® TaxPro, an electronic process to obtain IRS transcripts. The application enables tax professionals to quickly create and submit Disclosure Authorizations and IRS transcript requests. Any tax practitioner who has filed at least five electronic tax returns in the past year may use this new service.
TaxScripts TaxPro users input personal profile data just once. Subsequently they simply follow on-screen prompts to create Disclosure Authorizations and transcript requests with details like the types of information sought and target tax years. They then upload the request to the IRS which automatically pushes the requested data back to them.
This is very slick stuff -- I guarantee you’ll be impressed. I was so excited I almost wished I had an current client tax problem for which I needed a transcript! I can’t wait!!!
Here’s a nice demo -- a bit longish, but very informative.
