Avalara Picks Engineering VP

 Peter Horadan, AvalaraSales-and-use tax software company Avalara has named Peter Horadan to the new position of EVP of engineering. It was the latest in a series of additions to the exeuctive staff this year for Bainbridge Island, Wash.-based Avalara.

Horadan was most recently SVP of engineering and client service for Scout Analytics, which makes recurring revenue management products.Before that he was senior director of research and development for Concur Technologies where he led the creation of that company’s web-based expense management application.

It has been a busy year for Avalara. It has hired David E. Rostov as CFO, Alesia Pinney as general counsel and last month, Tom Parker as CIO. It also acquired UPC Matrix Master in January, Tax Technology Services in February and continued its aggressive signing of OEMs.
