Bowman Names Three Partners 1
Bowman & Co. has named three staff members to the partner ship group this month. The New Jersey CPA firm promoted Kenneth M. Drews, Michael Thilker and Josette Traversa.
Drewes joined the firm’s Governmental Services Department in 2009 with expertise in audits of county and municipal governments, school districts, charter schools, fire districts, and federal and state financial assistance programs.
Besides being a CPA, he is also licensed as a Registered Municipal Accountant, and as a Public School Accountant in New Jersey and is also a Certified Municipal Finance Officer. He has also been certified by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Local Government Services as a Certified Municipal Finance Officer.
Working in the Commercial Services Department, Thilker has worked at Bowman since April 2013 and is a CPA in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His clients mainly include housing authorities and non-profit affordable housing organizations and his experience includes audits of non-profits.
Traversa came to Bowman in September 2022 after near four years at CPA firm Citrin Cooperman where she was director of international tax services from November 2018 and partner from October 2021 until she joined Bowman. Before that, she spent two-and-a-half years at D&H Global Tax Group.
She primarily focuses on tax matters and is responsible for a wide range of individuals and businesses with experience that includes
tax consulting and review for individuals, partnerships and S Corporations.

John Tysseling, formerly chief economist for the New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department, has joined Moss Adams. Tysseling has become a consulting director in the accounting firm's Albuquerque, N.M., office with the goal of expanding the scope of the firms advisory services.

Rivet Software has raised new capital and selected new officers following the death in July of founder and CEO Michael Rohan. The Denver, Colo.-based company, which markets document management and reporting software for users with XBRL needs, has picked his widow, Madelaine Rohan, as interim CEO.

The National Society of Accountants has elected Steven J. Hanson, CPA, EA, of Cokato, Minn., as its president for 2013-2014. Hanson, a founding partner of Piehl, Hanson, Beckman, served as first vice president prior to the recent elections at the NSA's 68th Annual Meeting.

Jeff Gramlich, former president of CCH Small Firm Services, has taken the same title at AccountantsWorld. The executive left the CCH unit earlier this year after that company's ATX tax preparation software had a troubled tax season.

Johnson Lambert has appointed two CPAs to principal. The Washington D.C.-based accounting firm has promoted Megan Hubbuch CPA, CPCU, and Scott Hall,CPA, to that position. Hubbuch joined the firm in 2006 and is a principal in its Jacksonville, Fla., office, while Hall works in the Raleigh, N.C., office.

CCH Small Firm Services continued its executive remake this week with the hiring of Satyan Penmetsa as chief technology officer. So far this year, Kennesaw, Ga.-based SFS has also hired a new CEO and a new CFO after the fall out from a disastrous tax season for its ATX tax preparation software.

Kevin Robert is retiring as CEO of Wolters Kluwer Tax and Accounting in September. He will be replaced by Karen Abramson, who has served as CEO of CCH Tax & Accounting North America. The change will complete a sweep of top spots in the CCH executive suite since Abramson took over from Mike Sabbatis, former head of CCH, last year.
