CCH Enhances IntelliConnect

cch logoCCH has made one of the broadest in a string of enhancements to its less than-year-old IntelliConnect research platform that are designed to reduce the number of keystrokes it takes for users to get to content, including placing the browser tree on the home page. And the company made font sizes for the system larger in virtually all cases.

Previously, the browser tree was reached via a menu selection. But it has now been placed on the left side of the home page. "It helps our customers to be one step closer to their content," says product manager Tina Rajski.

IntelliConnect also now shows favorite publications on the home page, also instead of having to click a link to reach them. She says CCH will also be looking at a way to customize favorites. Users who do not wish to have favorites open by default can change that via a preferences setting.

Home page links for news items have also been brought to the page, instead of requiring users to go into a download section to find them.

For those who wish to perform multiple searches simultaneously, the number of tabs have been increased from five to eight.

Rajski noted while users had been split evenly between those who utilize the browser tree and those who prefer keywords for searching, most new users like the keyword-search-and-filter approach. The system also automatically opens documents, the most frequently used filter, instead of having them appear on the left side of the page, but not capable of being opened.

And regarding print sizes, "Across the board, we have increased the font sizes across IntelliConnect. You can make it even larger if you want," she says.
