Iris Software Acquires Doc.IT

The Iris Software Group, based in the United Kingdom, has acquired Doc.It. Terms were not disclosed. Doc.It markets document management and workflow software and internet portals for accounting firms.

The company owns two practice management lines that are marketed in the United States. These are Practice Engine, which Iris purchased in March 2019, and the Star Practice Management system, acquired in October that year.

Iris produces a wide range of business software applications, including financials, payroll, HR management and education management. Its accounting products have been largely aimed at firms in the U.K.

However, Iris says it plans a larger presence in North America and “plans to hire significantly in North America over the coming months to broaden its service offerings for CPA firms.”
