Sleeter Group Acquired

Doug Sleeter, The Sleeter Group, The Sleeter Group, which has been known for its annual small business accounting show, has been acquired by Diversified Communications. The purchaser is described as a family-owned, international media company. Founder Doug Sleeter remains with the company and his staff will continue working from the Pleasanton, Calif., office under the new ownership.

Sleeter provides a variety of professional training and development services to the accounting community that include forums, webinars, books, exams, newsletters, blogs and research services. Sleeter said Diversified brings "vast resources, incredible management, and deep experience that will help us realize our dreams for serving a growing market."

Founded in 1994, the company is also known for its Sleeter Group Consultants Network.

Based in Portland, Maine, Diversified Eastern United States, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and the United Kingdom. It has an Accounts Payable Network and operates conferences in that arena. It offers research in such areas as AP accounting issues, processes and policies and also markets an AP compliance suite.

It also conducts conferences for administrative professionals in the United States and Canada.
