The cloud-based product was designed to integrate with the company's Lacerte tax software and QuickBooks. It did not integrate with the ProSeries tax line.
Intuit explained the decision to discontinue the product in the following prepared statement: "... we feel our resources are best invested in areas where we can provide meaningful time savings in both our desktop and online tax prep offerings, as well as in new innovations that automate redundant tasks such as data collection and data entry."
In getting the product to market, Intuit allied with BigTime Software to help speed feature development. For sometime, BigTime's website has featured information for Lacerte users transitioning from the Intuit product. Intuit says customers can transition the data to BigTime, which is offering a $99 per month subscription for the first year for those who sign up before July 31. BigTime will also provide a free trial with the firm's data through August 31.
Technical support will be provided through July 31. Customers can access the product through August 31. Customer data will be purged from Intuit's servers after September 30.
