Rodriguez New ADP CEO
COO and president Carlos A. Rodriguez has been named president and CEO of Automatic Data Processing, replacing Gary C. Butler who has retired from the executive position after 37 years at ADP. Rodriguez, who has been at the company since 1999, was president of ADP's NAS and ES International businesses before becoming COO in May 2011.
Rodriguez had previously been the choice to succeed Butler under a succession plan. Butler informed the board on Wednesday of his intention to retire. Rodriguez joined ADP through the 1999 acquisition of Vincon, where he served as CFO. He then became president of TotalSource after joining ADP. Butler, 65 years old, made $8.9 million for the year ended July 31. Rodriguez's total compensation was $1.9 million for the same year. Butler became CEO in August 2006 and had previously been COO starting in April 1998.
