Citrin Cooperman has acquired Mibar, a value-added reseller based in New York, N.Y. It is Citrin’s second purchase of a mid-market accounting software reseller in a year.
Terms were not disclosed. Mibar becomes part of the CPA firm’s Digital Services practice. That practice is led by managing partner Eric Casazza, who joined Citrin in June when it purchased FMT Consultants.
Mibar was led by CEO Bart Nachimow, who founded the firm in 1991. Mibar reported revenue of $12.6 million and a workforce of 29 for Bob Scott’s VAR Stars for 2023. It carried Acumatica, Dynamics GP/365, NetSuite.
FMT had revenue of $24.3 million as reported in the VAR Stars submission under Citrin’s name and carried Dynamic Business Central and GP, along with NetSuite.
Bob Scott has provided information to the tax and accounting community since 1991, first as technology editor of Accounting Today, and from 1997 through 2009 as editor of its sister publication, Accounting Technology. He is known throughout the industry for his depth of knowledge and for his high journalistic standards. Scott has made frequent appearances as a speaker, moderator and panelist and events serving tax and accounting professionals. He has a strong background in computer journalism as an editor with two former trade publications, Computer+Software News and MIS Week and spent several years with weekly and daily newspapers in Morris County New Jersey prior to that.
