Smartphones offer the ability to browse the Internet and access email, but there are countless applications (apps) available for the mobile practitioner to increase productivity, bank, conduct meetings, network, and travel. As Apple's marketing says, “There's an App for that.”
U.S. Out to Halt Georgia CPA Preparer

The United States has asked a federal court to bar a CPA in Tucker, Ga., a suburb of Atlanta, from preparing federal tax returns for others. The Department of Justice is seeking an injunction to halt tax preparation by Matthew Adegbite and his companies MAS & Associates CPA, LLC and Mathew A. Adegbite CPA, PC, Adegbite was an accountant when he came to this country from Nigeria in 1993 and became a CPA in Georgia in 1999.

Tax Software Issues Spur Watchdog Group

TaxWorks users who banded together to deal with disasters with that software package have reformed to deal with issues facing professional tax preparers. Called Tax Preparers Watch Group, the organization is seeking to enlist anyone interested in dealing with software and governmental issues, indeed, any issues common to the tax preparation profession.
