Rippling Expands EOR Program 2

 Rippling has expanded its Employer of Record program to eight new countries. The change is part of the latest monthly release of the office application.

With EOR, a user can establish a legal entity in a country outside the United States, giving the user the ability to hire and pay employees in other countries. The latest additions are Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Israel, New Zealand, the Philippines, Switzerland and Turkey.

In addition, Rippling is providing hourly workers with a weekly break down of pay on paystubs so they can see hours worked, including overtime, for each of the weeks included in the pay period.

Users can now down payroll comparison data as a CSV file. Rippling says it has also provided more efficient time-entry CSV imports for Time an Attendance since users can automatically reconcile timestamps based on the employee’s timezone and

filter down to a specific set of imported entries and delete only those 

They can also import thousands of entries in seconds, versus 30 minutes.

BNA Gets New CEO

Greg McCaffery, Bloomberg BNAGreg McCaffery, who served as president and COO of the Bureau of National Affairs, has become CEO and president of the unit that is now known as Bloomberg BNA. He replaces Paul Wojcik who had held the job since 2007 and remains as chairman. The changes stem from BNA's acquisition last year by Bloomberg.

Intuit's GoPayment Going Global

gopayment_card_reader_Intuit is taking its GoPayment mobile credit card app and card reader global with its first move into another country--into Canada. The company also said it would begin shipping a free re-designed card reader in both the United States and Canada. The Canadian products are scheduled to be available early this year. No schedule was discussed for releasing the app in other countries.

Man Who Defrauded Crooked Preparer Sentenced

A Mesa, Ariz., man who stole from a tax preparer who conducted a Ponzi scheme was sentenced to 63 months in prison for his role in money laundering and defrauding the Internal Revenue Service. Wayne A. Mounts and his co-defendant, Gino Carlucci, were convicted in a trial in July for stealing large sums of money from tax preparer, Joseph Flickinger, who went to prison for mail and wire fraud, and from Flickinger's clients and associates. The two also set up Flickinger for arrest.

N.Y.Preparer Admits to False Tax Returns

A Dix Hill, N.Y.-based tax preparer has pleaded guilty to preparing at least 56 false federal tax returns. Howard Levine, who owned and operated Milaur Associates, made the admission this week in U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of New York in Central Islip, N.Y. He faces up to six years in prison and a fine of up to $500,000. Read more...

California CPA Firm Draws PCAOB Censure

A San Francisco CPA firm has been censured by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. The board also levied a $2,000 penalty against Reuben E. Price & Co. for failing to file annual reports for 2010 and 2011 and pay fees for those years. Reuben E. Price & Co., which is owned by CPA Richard A. Price, withdrew its PCAOB registration after complying with the PCAOB reporting requirements and paying fees.

Intuit Pointing Some QB Users to Intacct

Dan DrukerIntuit and Intacct are doing a promotion that is aimed at growing QuickBooks users. The marketing piece is designed to push QuickBooks users who are outgrowing the Intuit product to look at Intacct's Best Practices Financial Management Kit.
