Nelco Upgrades Wage and Info Reporting Engine

Nelco logoGRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Nelco has launched a new Wage and Information Reporting Engine, an updated version of a tool for developers of software products that offer accounting or payroll functions. Nelco said by using Wire, developers can take raw data from their applications and merge that with a library of government-approved federal and state wage and information reporting forms. The tool enables users to see forms on screen, edit data, print forms and save archive copies.
Wire shares a W-2 and 1099 data file format that can be used for federal and state e-filing services provided by Nelco. Wire offers an application programming interface that enables it to work with the data and supports state scan lines and barcodes, signatures, logos, watermarks and bitmap images.

The Wage and Information Reporting Libraries, includes the company's Electronic Wage and Information Document library with more than 90 federal and 400 state forms, including: W-2s, 1099s, 940s and 941s, along with state withholding tax returns and reconciliation forms, and state unemployment insurance and wage reports. The platform also provides Edit Control, via which end users can edit data after it is merged with the form. Software developers can invoke a locking feature to define which fields are editable.
