I'm just a Preparer and I have been for almost 30 years. I was prepared to take the test, but I am glad I don't. I hate taking tests. I take all the IRS classes, I have a PTIN#, I also have a tax attorney and a CPA in the family if I get stuck. I honestly believe that my clients get a great product from me. I have had only 5 clients that have been audited and came through it to the good and one who didn't but the errors were his not mine in 30 years. I haave a better record than the CPA's I've worked for. I don't make much and I have also amended a few dozen amended returns successfully. I didn't feel I had to take a test, just to weed me out of the pack. I'm not the norm, but I'm glad I don't have to take the test, besides why does the CEO of Intuit care.
