New York CPA Steve Lyon has been charged with helping defraud in workers’ compensation insurance premium payments. He had already been arraigned on similar charges in January.
The latest indictments charge Lyon with filing doctored payroll-related documents for workers of façade restoration and scaffolding companies.
The indictments include three counts of Insurance Fraud in the First Degree, five counts of Insurance Fraud in the Second Degree, eight counts of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree and nine counts of Forgery in the Second Degree in a New York State Supreme Court indictment for this conduct.
The charges include a scheme involving Anaar Construction & Contracting Corp. and its owner Sadaf Bhatti, who were indicted on similar charges. The January indictments involve similar allegations of defrauding the NYSIF. The other defendants in that case are Oneteam Restoration, a Long Island City-based masonry subcontractor, and its owner Mario Rojas Jr.
