The Fourth Annual Accounting Firms Open and Annual Technology Survey has been launched. Besides asking for input on current practices, authors Randy Johnston and Leslie Garrett say besides compiling that data, they will publish a three-year analysis of accounting firm software application usage based on the past surveys.The report will show software usage by annual revenue of firm The software categories to be reported include the following: tax, engagement, management, accounting, workflow, document management and payroll.
Johnston and Garrett also announced agreements with the National Association of Tax Preparers and the BDO Alliance. Under the three-year agreements with each organization, they will survey those groups' members. That data will not be made public.
