IRS Names Experience Officer

The Internal Revenue Service has named Ken Corbin as its first chief taxpayer experience officer. He will assume those duties while continuing in his role as IRS wage and investment commissioner, the agency’s largest operating division.

The position was created under the Taxpayer First Act framework and it was one of many moves the IRS outlined in the recent Taxpayer First Act Report to Congress.

In his new role, Corbin work with business units and offices across the IRS, including Chief Counsel, the Independent Office of Appeals and in coordination with  National Taxpayer Advocate.  The position is intended to set the strategic direction for improving the taxpayer experience and identifying opportunities.

Corbin, who has been with the IRS for more than three decades, has been in his role as wage and investment commissioner such January 2017.
