irsThe Internal Revenue Service is creating a shorter Form 1040 for the 2019 tax season. The agency said this week the will be about half the size of the current version and will replace Forms 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ.

All individual taxpayers will be able to use the same form, described as using a “building block” approach and which can be supplemented with additional schedules if needed. Taxpayers with straightforward tax situations will not need additional schedules, the IRS said.
