Smith said that the law could compact 90 million people who are using assisted preparation. “We think this will be a catalyst for growth,” Smith said during this week’s William Blair 38th annual growth stock company.
Smith reiterated other themes articulated this year by the accounting and tax software company. In particular, Intuit is high on the tax season track record of its TurboTax Live initiative in which taxpayers can access services of a professional from within TurboTax.
Intuit says customers with simple questions can benefit from Live and that the service will cost about $150, compared to $250 or so for complete preparation services of a tax professional.
