Court Bars Three Florida Preparers

dojThree Florida preparers, alleged to have cost the federal government millions in lost taxes, have been barred from preparing federal income tax returns for others. The three are accused of fabricating or exaggerating deductions and tax credits clients were not eligible to take.

The three, Frantz Petit-Dos, Luczor Fertilien, and David Joseph, were officers of Aleluya Universal Accounting Services, which had offices in Lauderhill, Fla. The government also alleged that the trio's misconduct began before Joseph formed the company in June 2013. Petit-dos and Fertilien owned and operated Imperial Taxation from the same location.

In one case, Joseph advised a customer that she was eligible for the Fuel Tax Credit because she was self-employed and drove herself to work. Fertilien also allegedly told the Internal Revenue Service that he advised any one with receipts for fuel for their vehicles could claim the credit.

The complaint alleged that Petit-Dos, Fertilien, and Joseph, a return preparer at Imperial, prepared false tax returns and committed other violations of the Internal Revenue Code while at Imperial Taxation.
