Mackintosh Leaves, Marx Takes over in Wolters Kluwer Reorg

Jason Marx, Wolters Kluwer Teresa Mackintosh has left Wolters Kluwers as the company reorganized its tax and accounting business. Jason Marx, formerly head of the company's CCH Small Firm Services unit, has taken over as CEO of the new Tax and Accounting North America, which combines SFS with the group that markets the CCH ProSystem and Axcess lines.

Mackintosh joined the organization when it was still called known CCH in April 2010, after several years in executive positions at Thomson Reuters. She became president and CEO of Wolters Kluwer CCH in October 2013. Marx began his career with the company in June 2007 as VP of Wolters Kluwer Financial & Compliance Services. He became CEO of SFS in February 2013.

Marx will report to Karen Abramson, CEO of Wolters Kluwers Tax & Accounting, the company said this week. Abramson declined to give specifics but said she expected some information to become public soon. She also noted that Marx's job is different from that held by Macintosh.

TaxWise and ATX/Kleinrock were both acquired by Wolters Kluwer CCH in 2006. SFS had operated independently of CCH, a designation that now survives in the product line, not as the name of part of the Wolters Kluwers organization.

The new structure under Marx has the business divided into the following segments: Small Firm Professionals, Medium and Large Firm Professionals and Corporations. Canadian operations also report into Marx.
