The United States has asked a court to bar Geddis is accused of preparing returns for herself and others that reported fictitious household help income. She allegedly overstated income for her customers to increase refundable tax credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and Making Work Pay Credit.
The Internal Revenue Service said Geddis received refunds from at least 148 fraudulent tax returns totaling $281,678 between January 2008 and May 2012.
