Sosa, who operated Sergio Centro Latino, began efforts to obstruct the collection of debt after the IRS audited him. He used nominees to open corporate bank accounts, renamed his business and placed it in his children’s names, and then made false statements to the IRS. He also provided funds to his daughter to make mortgage payments on his personal residence.
