IRS Fills Advisory Council Seats

IRS logoWASHINGTON - The Internal Revenue Service has named 10 new members of the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council, which provides a public forum for IRS officials and the public to discuss key tax administration issues. It also made last year's vice chairman, Charles P. Rettig, J.D. L.L.M. of Beverly Hills, Calif., as chairman for 2011. Rettig is a partner with Hochman, Salkin, Rettig, Toscher & Perez,

The new members include CPA Donna K. Baker off Adrian, Mich. The owner of Donna K. Baker & Associates and Tax Pro Filers, Baker is also an associate professor of accounting with Siena Heights University. William E. Philbrick, CPA/ABV, CVA, CFF, of Worcester, Mass., serves as SVP of Greenberg, Rosenblatt, Kull & Britsoli. Cecily V. Welch, CPA, PFS, CPF, of Alpharetta, Ga.  is a senior tax manager with S.J. Gorowitz Accounting and Tax Services while Peter S. Wilson, JD, CPA of Raleigh, N.C., is a managing director with RSM McGladrey's National Tax practice a partner in McGladrey & Pullen.

Richard G. Larsen, JD, CPA, of Fairfax, Va., Larsen is a distinguished professor of accounting at George Mason University, School of Management. Kevin D. Anderson, JD, CPA of Bethesda, Md., is partner with BDO Seidman. Sanford D. Kelsey, III, JD, CPA, of Memphis, Tenn., is a senior tax attorney for FedEx Corp. David F. Golden, LL.M., JD, CPA, of Atlanta, is a partner with the law firm of Troutman Sanders.

Neil D. Traubenberg, JD, of Broomfield, Colo., recently retired as VP-corporate tax for Sun Microsystems. Charles J. Muller, III, LL.M., JD, of San Antonio. Muller is an attorney/partner with the law firm of Strasburger & Price.
