Deltek Launches Bookkeeper Program

bookeeping coffeeDeltek, which agrees it has not adequately publicized its CPA program, has launched Deltek Pro Bookkeepers. The new partner program is designed to connect users of Deltek Costpoint software with accounting professionals

“It’s somewhere in the middle of a market relationship and a channel relationship,” says Peter Mann, Deltek’s SVP of corporate development and product alliances. There are about 100 accounting partners, which Mann calls Deltek’s “best kept secret.”

Deltek Pro Bookkeepers are given a free customer license, and power user logins. They also receive training and a dedicated customer contact “to meet the needs of a CPA firm.” In addition, the company offers a certification program through which accountants can earn badge.

Mann says the company’s ComputerEase operations, which offer accounting software for construction, has had a more active accounting firm program in North America for some time. Deltek plans to mirror the offerings of ComputerEase, which it acquired in August 2019.

Deltek is trying to appeal to customers who are leaving Intuit’s QuickBooks and would be willing to explore other packages.  Bookkeeping is the first offering with audit the second and generally followed by programs which similarly involve provided outsourced financial users to CostPoint customers.

CostPoint is available in a manufacturing edition and one for government contractors. The latter is described as providing an all-in-one package “that delivers more innovation and greater intelligence through an all-in-one system across the project lifecycle for government contractors.”
